    "body": "<p>When Rebecca (Bec) Fleay laces up her sneakers on November 16, she won&rsquo;t just be walking, she&rsquo;ll be honouring the man who changed her life, and the fight that has defined it.</p><p>In December 2019, just months after getting engaged and while expecting their first baby, her fianc&eacute; Myles suffered a seizure at work. Within days, the couple received the devastating diagnosis, a grade 4 astrocytoma (Glioblastoma), the most aggressive form of brain cancer. His scans are stable and the couple now have two beautiful boys, Oliver (5) and Arti (3), and this November, the family will take part together in Walk4BrainCancer Perth, their third time stepping out in support of the <a href=\"https://www.curebraincancer.org.au/\">Cure Brain Cancer Foundation</a> (CBCF).</p><p>During Myles&rsquo; diagnosis, Rebecca leaned on Cure Brain Cancer Foundation for guidance, support, and access to research, finding a vital source of information and reassurance during an overwhelmingly uncertain time.</p><p>&ldquo;The biggest impact Myles has had on me, is his absolute love for life. He never lets anything get him down or stop him from doing what he wants. Participants will take on a scenic 5km walk along the South Perth Foreshore.</p><p>This year, Walk4BrainCancer Perth aims to raise $200,000, and is already nearly halfway there, with over $110,000 raised to date, funds that will support critical brain cancer research and advocacy initiatives.</p><p>Walk4BrainCancer is the flagship fundraising initiative of CBCF and takes place in communities across Australia each year. Nationally, the campaign aims to raise more than $1.6 million in 2025 to accelerate new treatments and improve survival rates for people impacted by brain cancer.</p><p>Brain cancer is the leading cause of cancer death in children and adults under 40 in Australia. Despite these devastating statistics, it continues to receive disproportionately low funding.
